History & Mission

The French American Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast Chapter, is an independent non-profit private organization dedicated to promoting and developing trade and investment between France and the Gulf Coast. The Chamber is one of 19 chapters of the French-American Chamber of Commerce inthe U.S.

The first French chamber of commerce abroad was formed in New Orleans in 1876. Just over a century later in 1983, the French American Business Association of Louisiana formed,and finally, following a trade mission to France in 1988, the French American Chamber of Commerce - Gulf Coast becameits successor (known as the Louisiana Chapter until 2011).

The French American Chamber of Commerce has chapters in major cities throughout the U.S. and over 4000 members. Our mission is to promote trade and investment between Franceand the United States. The FACC-GC assists companies located in Louisiana, Mississippi and southern Alabama with exporting to France. We also assist French companies interested in launching or expanding to the Gulf Coast region.

Our past presidents include well-known Gulf Coast business leaders: Waldemar Nelson, Paul Nalty, Michele Braden, Lucien Boulad Damien Regnard and Donald Hoffman. Eric Belin, an attorney in New Orleans, is the current FACC-GC President. He has served in this capacity since 2012.
